Core Description

Mast and Tower Climbing: Perform assurance/ fulfilment/ acceptance/ commissioning and preventative maintenance on Core Network and Access telecommunications technologies and must be certified as a climber (Must be prepared to undergo fall arrest training.)

    Additional Information

    Qualifications:

    • Electrical Engineering diploma (N6/S4) Light Current (at least NQF level 6)

    OR

    • Grade 12 with Maths & Science (NQF level 4)

    Experience:

    • 1 Year relevant experience at Operational level.
    • 3 Years relevant experience at Operational level. 
    • Ex-/ Current Telkom Full Time Bursars, learnerships and internships candidates will be exempted from the 3 years’ experience requirements but must have a minimum of 12 months relevant experience. 

    Special Requirements:

    • Valid climbing and/or fall arrest certificate or must be prepared to undergo fall arrest training.
    • Valid medical clearance certificate/ Be prepared to undergo Medical clearance certificate testing.
    • No fear of heights (Masts & Towers - fall arrest, rescue & rope access).
    • Must remain physically fit to climb.
    • Not colour blind.
    • Must be able to work after hours, including overtime, call out and stand-by.
    • Able to function in stressful environment.
