Core Description

The Executive: Digital Business Enablement serves as the primary interface between business units and the IT Division, ensuring that technology investments are aligned to business strategy, customer experience objectives, operational efficiency requirements, and digital transformation priorities. The role is accountable for translating business needs into innovative, scalable, secure, and sustainable technology solutions that enhance customer and employee experiences while maximizing value delivery from technology investments.

The incumbent must provide strategic leadership and governance for Business Relationship Management, BAU CR Demand Management, Business Analysis, Digital Channels/ Portal Application Development, Solution Architecture & Operations (DevOps), and External Customer/Field User Journey Enablement across the organisation. 

The role leads a team of senior managers and specialists and engages with Executive level team, Business Unit Leaders, Product Owners, Operational Leaders, Technology Partners, and external service providers to drive strategic outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

1. Strategic Business Relationship Management
Establish and maintain strategic relationships with business leaders across all divisions.
Act as a trusted technology advisor to executives and senior management.
Develop technology roadmaps aligned to business priorities and strategic objectives.
Ensure continuous alignment between business strategy and technology investments.
Facilitate executive stakeholder engagement and governance forums.

2. Demand Management and Portfolio Prioritisation
Lead the demand management process for all business-as-usual and strategic technology initiatives.
Evaluate, prioritize, and govern business demands based on value, risk, capacity, and strategic alignment.
Ensure optimal allocation of technology resources and investment budgets.
Drive portfolio governance and reporting.
Monitor benefits realization and value delivery of approved initiatives.

3. Business Analysis and Requirements Management
Establish enterprise standards and governance for business requirements gathering and documentation.
Ensure quality, completeness, and traceability of business requirements.
Lead complex business transformation and process optimization initiatives.
Promote business process re-engineering and digitalization opportunities.
Ensure technology solutions address business challenges and customer needs effectively.

4. Digital Channels and Portal Enablement
Define and drive the digital channel strategy for customers, employees, partners, and field users.
Oversee development and enhancement of web portals, mobile applications, self-service platforms, and digital customer engagement solutions.
Ensure seamless omni-channel customer experiences.
Drive digital adoption and customer satisfaction improvements.
Partner with business leaders to identify and implement digital innovation opportunities.

5. Solution Architecture Governance
Provide strategic oversight of enterprise and solution architecture practices.
Ensure technology solutions align with enterprise architecture principles and standards.
Drive integration, scalability, cybersecurity, reliability, and technology modernization initiatives.
Govern architecture review boards and technology design approvals.
Ensure alignment between business capabilities and technology architecture.

6. DevOps and Technology Operations Leadership
Oversee DevOps practices supporting digital platforms and customer-facing solutions.
Promote agile delivery methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
Drive automation, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and operational excellence.
Ensure high system availability, performance, resilience, and customer satisfaction.
Monitor service levels and operational performance.

    Manage technology-related risks within the portfolio.
    Ensure adherence to cybersecurity, privacy, architecture, and technology standards.
    Support internal and external audits.
    Monitor third-party vendor and partner performance.

    11. Programme Management
    Delivery of the IT programme portfolio within approved budget.
    Ensure compliance with programme governance frameworks and reporting requirements.
    Identification, mitigation and escalation of programme risks to minimise impact on strategic objectives.
    Ensure effective allocation and utilisation of programme resources across the IT portfolio.

    Qualifications and experience:
    Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Technology or Computer Science.
    Postgraduate qualification in Business Management or Digital Transformation.
    Preferrably MBA or equivalent leadership qualification.
    8-10 years of working experience within Information Technology or Digital Transformation environment.
    At least 5-7 years in a senior management/ specialist leadership capacity.

    Special Requirements:
    Proven experience within a large telecommunication, technology or digital services environment.
    Proven experience in business relationship management, digital solutions, architecture governance, and technology delivery.
    Experience engaging executive stakeholders and leading cross-functional teams.
    Experience managing large-scale digital transformation initiatives.
    Willingness to travel as required by operational demands.
