Core Description

Responsible to define, direct, plan and implement objectives and action plans aligned with the divisional strategy. This includes specialist leadership in providing solutions or alternatives to solve complex problems and compiling of policies and procedures, processes and applications. Accountable to deliver on key specialist areas and manage interdependencies through conceptual thinking, design interventions and effective communication with stakeholders. Manage, mentor and develop Junior employees. The specialist area will be defined by the business unit, i.e. Technology/ Networks, Mobile, Strategy/ Digital Innovation, IT, Commercial, HR and Finance.

Job Responsibilities

Software Engineer:
Research, design and write new software programs (e.g. business applications r computer games) and computer operating systems.
Evaluate the software and hardware as well as developing existing programs by analysing and identifying areas for modification.
Network Engineer:
Responsible for IT infrastructure application and assurance, On the hardware side of things, they perform hands-on installation and maintenance tasks on network components such as routers, switches and cables, OSS, BSS, ERP and public cloud technology, application and service Management.
Responsible to provide core network engineering, planning, and monitoring of the core optical transport network. This can include technical product solutions.
Electrical Engineer:
Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
Ensuring that the AC to DC functions are within Spec. Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods, testing properties.
Electronics engineer:
Create, design and develop everyday devices such as mobile phones, portable music devices and computers.
Analyze customer needs and determine the requirements, capacity, and cost for developing an electrical system plan.
Customer Needs:
Determine the requirements, capacity, and cost for developing a customer solution plan.
Project Coordination:
Responsible for coordinating allocated projects
Responsible for managing Project costs and profitability and updating Team and Resource Manager
Maintain required standards of performance
Achieve agreed deadlines
Implement backup plans when project constraints occur
Ensure the coordination and efficient implementation of the project
Prepare and provide regular feedback and progress on project status.
Responsible for planning and managing allocated resources to ensure the satisfactory staffing of projects.
Resource plans are updated and agreed when project requirements change.
Design:
Responsible for the overall design work of allocated projects that includes responsibility for the Electrical Services and the co-ordination of all other
Services applicable.
Conform to the required standards and accuracy as per legal requirements
Constantly seeks to adopt the most up to date practices and to be innovative in the application.
Marketing:
Responsible for developing and maintaining good working relationships with clients to ensure long-term
Create Business Partnerships to address the customer#s specific requirements
Conforms to required standards of performance
Ensure that Customer Satisfaction is met and maintained as well that the Client's current and future needs are assessed and acted upon.
Quality Assurance Monitoring:
Responsible for ensuring that company#s Quality System is followed in all daily activities.
The required standards of performance must be attained.
People Management:
Establish and enable work environment and culture for optimum staff performance.
Provide team leadership
Motivate, lead, guide and mentor staff
Provide appropriate training and development initiatives

    Additional Information

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Relevant 5 year Degree (at least NQF level 9) in Engineering/ Computer Science/ IT/ Finance/ Human Resources/ Sales & Marketing.
    • 5 years relevant experience (inclusive of time spent on Masters/ PhD research)
